Hints and/or Comments:
  • I have found that I'm sitting waiting for the site to open.  Not sure why that is.  There may be desktop versions?
  • One thing that I find confusing is the way I've set up my blog is that going back to the main page is weird. My main page is called a Post and then the other pages are called Pages.  So, you have to go back to the main edit page and click on Posts.
  • After you have finished a page, make sure you either Save or Publish the page otherwise it will be lost.
  • One confusing point is that we can't use Blogger with our UIndy gmail account yet.  I'm going to push for this at the University level but it won't happen this semester. To use Blogger, you'll have to first sign in with your new account gmail then you can go into Blogger.  You can also open you UIndy gmail account at the same time after you've open your other gmail account.  But, open your non-UIndy gmail account first.  Frustrating.
  • What's the difference between blogs and wikis? Here's a chart from U. of Michigan.
  • If you are still struggling with blogs here's Blogger Help Center link again for you.
  • It would be a great idea to put this blog link into your blog so that we can go back forth between all the blog sites.
  • One nice feature when adding web links is to click on the option to "Open the Link in a New Window" that way your blog stays open.  Here's a picture:
  • Hint added 2/5/2014.  Embedding code is a little tricky in that you need to Publish the page before you can see if it is embedded correctly.  If you are skillful enough to embed code or want to try it.  Click on the HTML editor on the top left of your editing bar.  Embed the code where you want it and you can't Preview it.  It has to be Published.
